Hinge and Putter
FINALLY! I've always wondered why my distance control with the putter was always so inconsistent. Some days I'm putting long some days (most day - I'm short) others I'm dead on with the speed. Putting DVD has finally shed light on it. It's the hinge action... While I'm not a master at all the terminology (yet) I understand what's happening. Playing around with the 3 different hinge positions with the same swing, I can see a significant difference in feel and in distance. Also I'm able to recreate the feel of those good and bad putts of the past. With the vertical hinge I'm getting some very good distances with half the backswing which is upping the accuracy here in the living room.

I've got the tools and knowledge now I simply need to apply and practice!

Just remember the grain in the living room always grows towards the kitchen

I agree. Along with that, tracing the plane line with the right forefinger, rather than covering it. Also understanding how the way we grip it in the left hand affects the #3 accumulator which affects the amount of horizontal hinge action. It's all just pure gold. I learn something new EVERY time I watch. This is going to help my teaching so much... Melt that snow!!!
