Adjustments for short arms for R forearm on shaft plane
Are there any suggested adjustments for players with short arms (and long torsos)? I'm specifically thinking about getting my R forearm on plane at address.
So far I've noticed pulling the L arm across to the right PLUS increasing my reverse K (returns hands forward to L hip) makes it easier to get R forearm on plane at address.
Also, more spine angle seems to give more room for my arms to operate.
So there are basically two ways for me to get R forearm on plane...I seem to be preferring the first.
1. I pull my left arm all the way across my chest so my left hand is in line with my R side of my body. Then I can grip with a bent R arm and get the R forearm on the shaft plane. Then sliding my hips forward (like Lynn demonstrates to get proper tilt) brings the hands a bit forward to mid-body from a Face on view.
2. With "military" or an Adam Scott type L arm/shoulder and I had no possible way to get my R hand on the club with a bent elbow without severely tilting back to a reverse K.
There is actually a third....having a bent L arm at address.
forget all that little lebowski, stand up taller and relax the right arm setting it on the same plane as the shaft, the right forearm is in-line with the shaft from a down the line view not from face on, the right forearm will be in a cavity of the right hip, the hip tilt does not come until the downstroke. left arm should be always straight the right arm always bent until it is pulled or pushed straight into the follow through well past impact.
