Dear LBGers, what would you do if you owned the copyrights for the book (or owned TGM LLC, I don't know what the legal issues are) and had a big enough pile of money to develop new projects around TGM ?
I think I would have an electronic version of the book including basic videos and articles (maybe "beginner", "student" and "expert" levels) explaning and illustrating the major concepts. I also would like to promote free videos to introduce G.O.L.F. (I would not have pursued TGM if I did not have Yoda's videos and LBG !), as people may not have an AI nearby to start working on their machine. I would also publish more in depth essays on aspects of the book or how it related to physics and biomecanics.
i would honestly try to simplify the book for anyone to get started. at first the book is very very daunting some what similiar to unlocking a code. so for sure id make it more readable of the shelf with everything explained more
I guess TGM has to stay as it is for those who need to learn it all - AI's etc. But there should be a TGM light - together with the videos and DVD(s) to get golfers started and then some of these could eventually take on the whole book.
Anyway it's a reference book when you have found out what kind of stroke patterns you have (or want to have). And after some time/years one can appreciate it more...
If I owned the copyrights I would commission someone to make an accompanying DVD to sell with the book. It would cover every chapter in every detail explained and demonstrated with props, animations or diagrams in fact everything and anything required to enlighten the purchaser. I would market it as 'The Complete Golfing Machine'.
I'm with you O.B. Keep it in the family and make sure it gets out to the public appropriately. It is too valuable to squander and needs to be in capable hands. Those aren't mine.
Homer and TGM needed the internet and have blossomed with it the last 15+ years, now it needs a unified voice, less bickering among teachers, teachers who instruct real time students who only want to hit the ball straight in front of them. Advance players, the more serious and curious students already have the framework to learn from the best. The future is bright.
