Indeed I feel like I get to the position shown in the bottom left picture pretty well

HOWEVER, from that point Im really struggling. Im not sure how to get through the ball and release properly and end up hitting blocks or high pushes. To save that on the course I flip and fight a hook
What should I learn to get from that pre impact position with an open clubface and a bent right arm to get through the ball correctly without using my hands? Finish swivel?

You must use your hands. But bear in mind the difference between HAND motion and WRIST motion.
The wrist uncocks the hand rolls. So you must ROLL into impact and keep rolling through the follow through into the finish swivel.
The roll of the hands feels more like a roll of the whole left arm to me .
