Another great Round By Tom Watson. 59 years old. Leading the Field.
Tigger Misses the Cut. Unless they move the cut to +5. They might for Tigger. He pays all of those bloated Announcer Salaries.
The following Players made the Cut. I thought half of these guys gave the game up.
Steve Marino
Tom Watson
Mark Calcavecchia - Oh? I don't think he can walk another 36 holes.
JB Holmes
Stewart Cink
Jim Furyk
Jeff Overton
Boo Weekley
John Daly - I don't know much about his game, but his choice in arm-candy has gotten better.
Justin Leonard - who's he?
Zach Johnson
Davis Love III - is he still playing?
Tom Lehman - Does he have a medical release?
Kevin Sutherland
Billy Mayfair - I thought he gave up the game until the Senior tour kicks in.
Nick Watney
Kenny Perry
Steve Stricker
Sean O'Hair
Bryce Molder
Paul Goydos
Mark O'Meara -
It would be very unbritish to give a guy like Tiger privileges just because he is the best player in the world.
I haven't played Turnberry, but we are a gang that goees to Scotland each autumn. It is an entirely different game over there. And one of the differences is that the ability to hit the ball long is less of a factor on the links than it is on almost all other course I've been playing. Different skills are requred and most of it is about finesse.
I will be rooting for Watson this weekend. This reminds me of the last time Jack was in contention at Augusta. Although it is not very likely to happen, Tom Watson does have a real chance of winning the Claret Jug. And it will be great if he does.
