Lynn Blake's Golf Channel Instructor Search Video
Okay, guys and gals. Here we go! I've just today (Sunday the 19th) uploaded my video to TGC. They should have it posted within 48 hours.
If you like what you see, please post your comments on YouTube. Then, follow this link to the TGC Instructor Search page http://www.thegolfchannel.com/instru...&emailAddress=, and click on the video there (remember, though, it may be Tuesday the 22nd before they get it up). If it has not yet been posted to the 'Featured Videos' section -- a rotating list -- then it will be listed in the 'Additional Videos' dialog box at the bottom of the page. After you've watched it there, click on the "I like it!" button. Let's get the LBG ball rolling. This video is merely the 'tip of the iceberg', and we need to let the TGC folks know that you want more! :3gears: |
Excellent job YODA.
Very nice audition, and a wonderful introduction to TGM and your philosophy on G.O.L.F. I enjoyed that very much! :salut: Kevin |

This video was shot in High-Def, so if it plays slowly for you, adjust the quality setting in the lower right corner of the video. The lower the number, the lower the quality, but the faster it'll load.

Good work. It's not often we see golf instruction demonstrated so ably by the presenter.
|
I've watched all of the video presentations submitted for the Golf Channel "Instructor Search", and certainly, this is the best presentation of them all. The content will be fresh and interesting to all of the viewers and it's presented with a very charismatic performance. Viewers will want more. Great job Lynn.
Someday we'll have to talk about that "Basic" and "Acquired Motion" interpretation issue. Maybe over a Martini. :) |

We owe you a huge debt of gratitude Lynn Blake! :salut: Kevin |
Good stuff. Its very well presented and you can see some of the presentations by the more internet experienced instructors as they are shot very well with a great camera.
Yoda's video was a little different then some of the others because they discussed swing philosophy in a bigger context rather then a single pointed lesson. Very well done sir! |
Wonder how difficult it was to have a 10 minute limit? It makes one want more.
|
Wow!!! This is great stuff! Well done my friend :salut:
Good luck and hope that the powers that be on TGC will take notice of this. Alex |
Great job Lynn! I'd expect nothing less!! Clear, concise, and helpful to TGMers and non TGMers alike. Especially liked the tip at the end; the description of the importance of extensor action through the use of the belt was great. I know everyone here will bombard The Golf Channel for you. Thanks for all you do!

Very, very well done Lynn. Broadcast quality and then some.
There are so many golfers out there looking for the game's truths. This speaks to it directly, without compromise, simplification or exception. Which is how it should be. The swing on that man is something else isnt it? If thats how he's swinging it I want to know more and more and more. I think the traffic around here is going to get a little busier starting this tuesday. |
Not Easy!

WOW sad to say this is one of the more exciting things that i have seen lately. this would be HUGE for promoting the golfing machine and promoting business for AIs. perfect video, you introduced the basic principles, the way you learn it, the number one imperative the flat left wrist! (which no other instructor mentioned on any of the other entries) you demonstrated how once you understand the facts and illusions you can use them to your advantage. best video by FAR of all the entries, in both production value/ presentation and information. seemed like most others would either talk about one tip or problem or say that they intended to simplify the game. nearly all of them had horrible wind noise and really bad production. clearly lynn is the most established/knowledgeable instructor out of all the entries. homer would be very proud
|
This is why he is called Yoda! Definitely the most polished presentation and best video quality of any of the videos I have seen posted. For those of you who have never seen Lynn "present" in person this is what you get. I wish you luck in getting this gig because you certainly deserve it. I can't think of a better person on air for all golfers to listen to than you.
Bravo on a job well done. Jeff |
No contest.
Its an unfair fight - heavyweight against flyweights.
Stop the contest, hand the title over now and have done with it. Knock out job Lynn.:salut: |
A gifted presentation. It makes me want to hear more. Pulling for you.
Fond memories of Cuscowilla. Dave |
Excellent video good luck on TGC!

Sanity Restored
Great job Lynn. I sure hope that TGC goes with the science instead of the band-aids. All of us truth seekers in the Great White Norde will help any way we can. It would be so good to watch golf instruction without yelling at the TV - "Just tell 'em the truth"!!!

The Truth Shines Bright
Today was a wonderful Sunday...Our pastor Craig gives a thought provoking/concise homily on life & our choice to shine or not shine in the light....& now pastor Yoda shining the light on the truth of the golf swing...& all in 10 minutes...that's beauty:)
|
wow lynn,
can i imagine Yoda on the golf channel...holy crapers! |
Nice video Yoda. Hope that gets in.

If one were to read the discussion boards on TGC.com or even most of the writing which panders to the PGA and the players rather than to actual golf, I'm not so sure it is the place for someone with the class and integrity of Yoda. On the other hand, if they really wanted to give themselves some credibility with those of us that find golf a high priority for many reasons, Yoda is just the person they need.

Class Act
Homer would be very proud....you present his information in a manner that is so professional and full of class. All the best.
|
Very good video Yoda, I hope it gets you the gig.
It was very polished and I wondered if it was all you or did you bring in an expert to help you choose certain language patterns? I noticed references to both God and the Bible. I wondered if that was deliberate or just part of how you normally communicate. Please don't take it as a criticism by the way, just an observation. I know you have your beliefs which is fine with me, I just wondered if you were subliminally appealing to white christian americans on purpose? |
Great video, great quality. :salut:
I went through videos posted some time ago and I was disapointed by most that seemed to err on the quick tips side. Now we're talking about the fundamentals of the swing, can't wait to see how it goes from there ! |
AWESOME! Been out of the loop . . . just stumble on to this! FANTASTIC . . . . Revolution will be televised!
|
So much information in 10 minutes, and yet very easy to understand. I look forward to Lynn being the next Golf Channel instructor. You have my vote!!!

I am what I am, and I do what I do. I have been using the 'David and Goliath' slingshot and 'God's centered head' analogies for years. Until now, I was unaware that these ideas were limited to "white Christian Americans" (a characterization I find both ludicrous and offensive). No mas, please. :( |
Lynn, I'm guessing you had a little editing to do on that very good tape!

In my inner city classroom, I teach a "RED-C" Constructed Response. It's like a Power Package for writing for small people. There is a question or prompt and then a Restatement of the prompt, an Example, two Details, and a Conclusion. When I say "RED-C" in class, lots of my peeps say "Oh, just like Moses!" :) Audiences vary and LOVE is stronger than anything. Your passion for golf is terrific, surpassed only by your skills. You got game! Next golfing insight? :golfcart: :golfcart: YBGF |
mea culpa!
Ok, sorry for any offence, I did receive an email from a forum member and perhaps copying and pasting my reply to that user is easier than creating a storm in a tea cup.

I reiterate that I have no agenda whatsoever just an interest in the use of language in public speaking. As I said in my emailed reply to the forum member, many public speakers deliberately avoid political and religious references when speaking to a wide and varied audience. Yoda has clarified that this is his normal speach pattern so please like me consider the matter closed. I don't want to alienate anyone with this or cause issues with any users. It does however make my point though, as it has already caused debate, think of the effect that it might have on people who don't know Yoda. |

In less than three days this short video has been viewed by an international audience of more than 1,200 people. It tells me that my mission -- to bring the correct information into the hands of golfers everywhere -- is alive and well. And that makes me very happy. :salut: |
And speaking for me, your communication method and content makes me happy.:) :

Yoda
No one could say what YODA said in the amount of time he had to say it.....and it was persented beautifully. Great job Lynn! Rick:eyes:

My world, it opened up! :salut: |
Watching the Golf Channel over the years I have learned that what you know is not nearly as important as how you present yourself. It's all about charisma, personality and looks. Ever listen to Nick Faldo analyze someones swing? Ever watch Michael Breed put a blow up ducky life preserver around his chest and go on to explain the importance of "staying connected"? I can go on and on. It is my opinion that the majority of golf channel viewers want to be entertained with a quick fix and would get bored quickly by an explanation that is too technical. Yoda has more knowledge about the golf swing in his thumbnail than all the Michael Breeds and Nick Faldos of this world combined but his vast knowledge is IMH opinion not what the Golf Channel is looking for. They want a more cotton candy type of approach to teaching and I don't think Yoda would look good with a duck around his chest. Besides, if he gets the job then what will techno nerds like us do for a fix :sad2:
Having said that I sure wouldn't mind seeing Yoda on the golf channel with that duck around his chest:laughing9 |
