new student
after one lesson...
|
Things have gone haywire in frame 6 - the club head is too far back away from the target leading to massive throwaway in frame 7. He needs to learn to retain his angle from the top right now before this becomes ingrained!

Why do you see this happening, pivot issues, hand path, hand speed? |

Not sure, honestly I would guess. If he was able to maintain that lag a little more I am sure it would only help power wise and low point control wise as he gets his hands in a pretty good impact alignment.

A Loaded Question

Lots to like here. Great alignments at Impact and Follow-through, i.e., to the Both Arms Straight position (Section 11). The student is Hitting (as evident in his Release motion). Therefore, as a next srep on his journey, I would offer him the alternative of the Hitter's Drive Loading procedure (10-19-A) from the Top (per the Hitter's Basic Pattern 12-1-0) instead of his current Drag Loading (10-19-C) which is more compatible with Swinging (12-2-0). Thanks for posting! :salut: |

His posture looks good there Whip, nice job.
Do you think if you fixed his arch he could get to Top and have more #2 angle , more lag loading. He sort of looks like he's doing a lot of lifting to "get to parallel" in position golf speak. Leading to excess arm/ hand travel.... what some guys call "run off". The arms running away from the pivot a bit. How long has he been playing? Is he a natural? Looks like it. If so his bad alignments , loss of EA in the third Station etc will be easy to fix as nothing is really ingrained as of yet. Old dogs , like me , we're way harder to retrain. |

Missing Man Formation
Whip,
Why so many deleted posts? You opened with three words and a photo squence. In random fashion, you have since deleted the sequence and your four subsequent responding posts. Makes it difficult for 'the rest of us' to follow, especially in your own thread. Obviously, something's not working here. Unless you post to the contrary, we'll close this thread tomorrow. That's unfortunate, because it had great promise (which is why I personally posted). PM me if you want to reopen. |
