Posture at Address - Pics

Which one?

Posture is different due to many ...many variables including

Notice deviations:
Position of the Eyes & Ears
Flexion of the neck
Thoracic Curve
Lumbar Curve
Sacral angle
Plane of Arms
Deviation of the wrists - Cocked, Level, Uncocked
#3 Accumulator
Plane Angle of the Clubshaft to the ground

Good stuff man....love these posts.

What would you say is ideal?

What are some of these guys' faults?...I'm sure some have faults. Like Tiger's straight neck...

What about options...i.e. matching setups to stroke types?

Player builds/heights have an influence?

So many questions to ask.......

Ideal?...the only ideal is that the human machine/the golfing machine are set-up to execute a motion (Hitting or Swinging)...that simulates the intended "Flight Path of the Ball"...

Yes Tiger's Neck Tilt is the problem...thus causing Bobbing on the downsstroke...read my Post on Manzella'Forum....NAT.... He is looking at the ball down the vertical axis of his eyes and "re-centers" his fovial field to "re-center the object...Notice the ears are markedly behind a line drawn up from hip joint to shoulder joint plus his chin is pulled "Up and In" toward his adams apple...face is up...This is BAD...really BAD NEWS...look at the Postural Deviations...Study the markings of each..the Chin, the Ears, the Pelvic angle, etc....

Yes, combinations of upper and lower limb length, Torso length, Plane Angle, and #3 Accumulator Angle influence a persons posture...

Read 7-2-4 for the "TGM" ideal..."Move the stance line and ADJUST the knee bend, the Waist Bend and the #3 Accumulator Angle....."

I personally just set my Right Forearm On Plane with the Club first. This determines precisely the amount of knee bend and spine angle I need. If in doubt, I go to Impact Fix. That tells me where my head, spine angle, knee bend, etc. should be at address.

And it works for all club lengths, and different physical makeup of the golfer. So it's a pretty simple procedure...

Do you think the above golfers would play better with the recommended set-up of right forearm on-plane? If so, why don't they already do it OR do they simply NOT know!

I could see myself telling Nicklaus that he's set-up incorrectly ...

Then He would simply ask " Hey, Skywalker....How many majors have you won lately?

BTW.... Tong...Great point..especially if your a Hitter... like Appleby

Same question as skywalker, none of the golfers set up with right forearm on plane with the club, is that because of swinging?

I'll wade in here for a minute...

How many professional golfers set up with the right forearm on plane?

How many professional golfers have zero shift?

Do the golfers have a faulty setup or is it that they have their own variations? Granted these variations may require a compensating move during the stroke, but as long as it isn't mismatched it shouldn't result in being a fault!?.

I doubt it that these or many of the professionals have ever learned to set up at Impact Fix. I think this is beared out in golf instruction and comments by both them and the writers, "Address the ball is the position you impact that ball" but yet the the imperatives are missing.

Can't you still have a non-zero shift stroke even with your right forearm on plane at address?

Thanks.
