Once you're in 12-1, if you went down the page and put 10- in front of every one of the 24 components, it would tell you where to find everything in chapter 10. For instance, 2-B becomes 10-2-B and is found in chapter 10. I would highlight each of the components for hitting, and in a different color, highlight all the swinging components. First, check the ones that are the same, then you might want to have a separate highlight color for components that are the same. This makes the book easier to read.
As a personal note, in my hitting pattern I've chosen to use impact address instead of adjusted address. I changed it because Homer said that it was especially useful for hitting. I would learn adjusted address first, as Homer recommended, then change to impact address if you find it useful.

don't forget the preface and forward..some good nuggets in there

It can be very helpful to your overall understanding to read the book in the order and manner described in the preface (page X). Attempting to read the book in chapter order and/or trying to follow all the references when presented is likely to be confusing to first time readers.

As with many things, people often don't follow or even bother to read instructions. The book is much simpler to understand if you follow them as described.

I like to recommend first reading Chapter 4, Wrist Positions, which is only 6 short pages with many photos. If you never read another page these have returned your investment. And, with your interest in Hitting, the last paragraph could be an anchor.

As these very helpful posts continue to build, you'll find that there are SO MANY "nuggets" found in this work. Everyone will have favorites, and all will have valid reasons for suggesting them. The more I read, the more I love everything in between the hard covers. It's truly a masterpiece.

Waiting for the book

I ordered TGM from Amazon on 15 November with priority international shipping (to New Zealand). Handt seen it by 24 Novemeber so checked web site and despite "shipping in 24hrs" I am told will not ship until 15 Jan !

Emailed and complained and they will waive shipping fees and send express but still unable to speed up shipping date.

Have contacted TGM web site to see if they can send sooner

Very frustrated waiting for what sounds like a great book

Julian
