Thighs

What do the thighs do in the swing? Hips are joints right? So do the thighs move the hips?

Yes!!! Yes!!! Yes!!!!

Dark Meat....

The muscles in the upper thighs and the gluteaus maximus permit the rotation of the pelvis around the heads of the femurs...ie..the knobs of the thigh bone....you see...true hip rotation would be the rotation of the leg..internal/external rotation...pelvic rotation combined with the internal/external rotation is what we in the golf world refer as hip turn.
