First TGM Lesson...
...in 20 months. Yikes, I'm a mess. Mired in fog. And positions. GSED put me on Ben's mat, had me work with moving club back w/pivot, instead of hands. Now very foggy about how to move club with right forearm w/out doing so at expense of pivot? Would very much appreciate any help.
I can afford about one lesson a month, and I really want to try and stick with my studies--the more I can learn from my friends here, perhaps the more I can take with me to the next lesson. Grateful, but fogged in, Hoganfan. |
A Hitter, Actuallly...

At the lesson though, I looked terrible on tape. Clubhead throwaway, L wrist bent. And of course, after the last two weeks of nipping Titlests off my carpet and on to my couch 10 feet away, I got in front of Rick and shanked two chips. Rick asked "What were you thinking prior to impact?". I replied "Don't shank this in to Rick's eye and blind him". He told me to get an impact bag and work on moving it away by using my pivot, not my hands. Also took me through the alignments on Ben's mat, which is always mind-blowing. My positions are so ingrained, making a move according to any alignments feels completely awkward and instantly forgettable. Rick's a cool customer--very patient as you said. I'll try to get to him once a month, supplementing what he instructs with what I can learn here. If he's wearing an eye patch next time you see him...sorry. HF |
