Senior golfers
I realize the benefit of T.G.M,but is there some advice for the senior and possible less flexible golfer in the world of T.G.M.

Our bodies can only do so much, be they an Arnie, the 100lbs weed, or the graying senior.
The best thing about TGM is that you can work out how to efficiently use what you have at your disposal how to make the most of it. All the power accumulators come into play and knowing what they are gives the golfer plenty of scope to come up with a swing pattern that will maximize the potential you have. |
seniors
Work on flexibility and core strength . The followthru is more important. Work on coming to a full finish on balance. Many seniors have a short back swing and short followthru. Those that still get distance get their right side and shoulder down and thru the shot to a full finish. Both women and seniors need active hips.

And Dave can really belt it still:)
Most seniors I see fail to reach both arms straight. Add that to a list of must at least get there on whatever pivot you got. |

Sure Onebecome, you can cheat. Get a little sloppy with your angles and pivot. This could increase your acceleration time and reduce your release interval giving you more velocity. Sure you hit it wider at first but think of the fun. |
If you aren't as flexible as you used to be (i.e. me), then using the hitting procedure seems to be the way to go.

YodasLuke would be proud
I was on the back of the range when a real friendly guy comes up
and asked for help. He had been though a series of lessons and said that he could not do what a pro wanted from him. The guy was approx 65 years old with bad Knees, very stocky and and no flexability. At one time he had played football for Alabama. He had big forarms and big hands. His two sons one from the PGA Tour and one from the Nationwide tour told him to forget golf. He was hopeless. He told me that his average score was 106 to 110. If he could just get into the high 90's he woould be happy. The pro that gave him lessons did the standard, drop the right foot back, get more hip turn and try to swing more through the ball. i said forget it. Lets use the right forarm and punch the ball out 175-200 Yds. I showed him how to get beside the ball and use radial acceleration with a slow start down. Then I found prictures from the Falcons Fire get to- gether where one of YaiasLuke students put dowes on the ground to get the backswing/downswing planes with clubface positions as a guide. In a month, my new friend shot 84. He said that he could not hit the ball far but could hit it straighter than anyone that he played with. |
