It's all in the book
I'm at the point where.....I believe if one uses standard hip action and a shoulder turn throw....they would have a Jimmy Ballard or David Leadbetter type swing....Ballard likes you to fire the whole right side and I have a video of Leadbetter student Nick Faldo using a shoulder turn throw...hmmmmm.....it appears to me you can find all of the top instructor swings in the machine.....pretty much one stop shopping in Homer's little Yellow Book.
The Little Yellow Book strikes again....ain't it great!!! :) DG |
My understanding is that the Leadbetter swing was a plagiarised Mac O'Grady swing and we all know that he studied the book.

I am now un-learning this move with the help of Yoda. Yoda is showing me a more "classic" pivot, ala Hogan, Snead, and others. The classic pivot has more weight on the left side at set up and during the backstroke than does the modern pivot. I'm really pissed that I wasted so many years with poor instruction. These top instructors might have pieces here and there, but TGM has it all. |
