Does this count?

On Saturday I was about 160 yards out (130 yards over water). Hit a nice smooth six iron. The ball flight looked very good, and I thought it was going to be a good shot. When we crossed the bridge and got a look at the green, the ball was about six inches from the cup. When I walked up to mark the ball, there was a large indentation in the lip of the cup.

I assume the ball hit the lip and bounced out. Not a bad birdie, anyway.

It wasn't a holie, and I don't know if it was a polie, but it was exciting to see the result.

Ask me and it definietely counts. Now that you've proven you can do it just keep that in mind next time you have a similar shot.

Congrats! =D>

sounds like one that counts to me! I had a 'lip out' near ace yesterday, and I'd count that too! Better than a pole-ie, but not quite a hole-ie. Had 180 uphill to a very narrow green. Got lucky really, as I hit it a touch left of the green, got a nice kick and watched as the ball lipped out and finished less than a foot away. Really thought I had it for a second there, as did my playing partner it sure looked like it dropped as it lipped out!

gotta love those tap in birdies!
