What is the "bullseye", with the butt of the club pressed against the palm of the left hand?

I believe Steve is showing an example of linear force.

New to TGM, been reading it for a couple of years and had a few lessons along the way from some AI's.

Drag loading, longitudinal etc towards the plane line then? But the thing where the club is parallel to the ground and the butt is hitting the left palm, is that a Delayed Release image then? Small pulley wheel?
