Hi everyone, this is my first post. I have been lurking for a couple months and reading through the mountains of information in these forums. This website is a great resource for TGM.
I am practicing basic motion and using a hitting pattern. I think I have Components 1 through 8 set reasonably well.
#9: Since I am trying to use a hitting pattern I am zeroing out accumulator #4. Which to me means that the pivot will not drive the swing. Is that correct?
#10: I think I have a straight left arm. I am struggling with the direction of EA. I have read many posts about it and I have read that it should be below plane. But where below plane? Directly down to the ground? Or in the direction that the left arm is pointing out from the body? I have also read that EA should not have any impact on the downswing. Its got me pretty confused. I think I have seen benefit of the structure that EA provides in full swings, but so often I miss the turf altogether when I am applying EA in these basic motion hits.
#11: In the video, do I have a FLW? I try to use PP#2 to keep my FLW. The muscles in my left forearm is where I feel it the most. Just gripping it really tight with the left hand to keep that left wrist locked. Is that correct?
#12: As I understand it, this is what drives the hitters motion. Sometimes I try to pickup the right forearm, other times I bend the right elbow, but I am trying to always concentrate on carrying my swing up and back with the right arm. I am confused about how much up and how much back. It seems that there should be a "best" path and I have not found it yet. Pickup the right forearm seems to be to steep, I think that is what leads to these impacts behind the ball. Pull the right elbow back and it seems that is when I miss the ground entirely.
I have read #13 but since I am so shaky on 10 through 12 I have not spent time on any components past 12.
In the swing video the the clubhead impacted the ground before the ball and I don't know why. Can anyone provide some diagnostic? Thanks in advance for any and all help.
