A Gathering of Eagles
They say that eagles don't flock...
But on February 21-22, 2005, they did indeed gather at the Rob Noel Golf Academy in Abita Springs just outside New Orleans, Louisiana.
Forward Leaning Clubshafts, Anyone?
The occasion was a Master Class of Golf Instruction based on the principles and procedures of Homer Kelley's great work, The Golfing Machine. Class Leader was Lynn Blake, G.S.E.D., and the assembled group of fourteen included eleven Professionals. All attendees had previous TGM experience and eight were TGM Authorized Instructors.
Our host was none other than "The Man" himself, Rob Noel. A PGA member since 1989, Rob was voted in 1993 and 2000 the Gulf States Teacher of the Year. Golf Digest recognized him in 2000 and 2003 as Best Teacher in Louisiana. He is an Authorized Instructor of The Golfing Machine and has earned the designation G.S.E.M. (Master, Golf Stroke Engineering). His Associates, Tom Danos, Director of Schools, and Authorized Instructors Chris Wertz and Buzzy Brown also were in attendance.
Located adjacent to the Money Hill Golf and Country Club, Rob's learning center provided the perfect venue for our explorations. It is one of the South's top golf instruction facilities: A beautiful building with covered bays, a built-in two-camera video set-up and more technical gadgets and training aids than you can imagine.
The Master Class structure included a full first day of lecture, drill and demonstration on core TGM concepts. The second day expanded on the first with an in-depth morning Q&A. The highlight of the Class was the final afternoon, when each participant demonstrated their Total Motion before the assembled group with commentary and analysis by Lynn. Throughout it all the explosive sound of COMPRESSION!echoed throughout the surrounding woodside.
What a group! What an experience! Thanks, Rob, for bringing us all together and making this special event happen.
It is one each of us will long remember.

We fired our guns and the British kept a'comin.
There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago.
We fired once more and they began to runnin'
down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.

Yoda, that Lynn fella sure can make some noise with a clubhead and ball, can't he?

Fellow Machiners,
It was a privelege to be in attendance for the Master Class at The Rob Noel Golf Academy.
Lynn is a dynamo. His presentation was a high energy " stream of consciousness" that obviously came from a passionate desire to share and de-code the mysteries of The Golfng Machine.
Many of us are teachers and each of us were impressed with Lynn's ability to apply Golfing Machine concepts to our total motions .
He identified one or two components per participant that , when corrected, showed immediate and dramatic improvement in compression and ball flight.
The myth that real progress in changing a golf motion takes a long time was blown away forever. Applicatoin of precise, accurate, and appropriate information was a joy to observe.
If you would ever have the chance to spend time with Lynn, take advantange of the opportunity. You will find that he is generous, courteous, enthusiastic and committed to your increased understanding of The Golfing Machine.
Let's continue to support Lynn's efforts to spread the word.

Truely an incredible learning experience!!!!
To all who seek to learn this great work by Homer Kelley,
My name is Rob Noel aka Hunter. We just got finished with one of the most incredible learning experiences of my career. Our two day school conducted by Mr. Lynn Blake was out of this world. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and passion are second only to Mr. Kelley himself. All I can say is WOW.
When I first invited Lynn to conduct our school, I asked him to help us with the application of the principles in the book and HE NAILED IT
I can see it now, we're going to take over the world of golf instruction.
This was the first of many to come with Lynn and Rob Noel Golf Academy and I would like to invite all who seek to learn.
Lynn, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with all of us.
FOREVER HITTING,
Rob

Just needed to shout this- this was evident in my workshop and is what the outside golfing world resists belief in. I may be preaching to the choir but .... it is true. Such a complex little book reaps a simply to use machine.
Okay- when read to us by Lynn- lol.

and it is that statement Mike that TGM can gain worldwide appeal from. If TGM and it's leaders can show the world improvement can come reasonably quickly it might change the face of golf overnight.

The workshop with Lynn was wonderful. It continues my understanding of Homers wonderful work. I still have very far to go, but continual involvement with people like Lynn, Rob, Brian, Joe and many others will help me get to my goal of a working knowledge of The Golfing Machine.

Thanks from The Rob Noel Golf Academy
I would just like to say WOW! Attending the 2 day school this past week was truly an eye opening experience for me. Mr. Lynn Blake helped me realize something... YES, the golf swing isn't easy... but, YES, the golf swing is easy to fix. His presentation and coaching was very impressive and I feel very lucky to have been able to be a part of it.
THANKS!

Master Class work at The Rob Noel Golf Academy
Fantastic learning experience!
Lynn is truly an EDUCATOR in every sense of the word. Concise, enthusiastic and informative. The fourth Imperative for all new TGM'ists should be learning from this man. He is the real deal.
I have never had so many "SO THAT'S WHAT HOMER MEANT...." moments.
Sure hope we do this again.....soon!

It really was a great two days.
Lynn explained the book as Homer explained it to him, and noboby does that any better than Lynn.
We also saw Lynn do some 'quickies" with the talented group and even watch a half-hour with a novice golfer and that was a great change of pace from the lecture.
But!
The most important thing was the GROUP was really loving learning in a setting where everyone started with some TGM knowledge.
It was the ESSENCE of what a Golfing Machine Summit would be:
How this for a line-up.....all half day presentations
Lynn Blake - Explaining the book (just as he always does so well), plus his Homer stories.
Ben Doyle - On the early days with Homer, Q and A about all the mis-told second hand stories, his take on why he teaches what he does and what he thinks of the other 'schools' of TGM thought.
Chuck Evans - On his TGM experience, Sally, The big 'deal', and why he teaches what he does.
Ron Gring - Working with PGA Tour Players, teaching in a small market, and his TGM experience
Rob Noel - Teaching TGM at a "Golf Academy" and training a staff, PGA Tour lessons and his TGM story.
Brian Manzella - "Results Oriented" Teaching, The internet, David Toms, how to build a a teaching business at a driving range with competitors, and his TGM< story
Joe Daniels - On his 100 year plan and the "state-of-the union"
etc, etc
and a Massive On the Range Teach FEST!!!
How bout it?
