Think about this
Don't throw the Clubhead/clubface at the Ball, throw the Ball with the Clubhead/clubface.

When you want to throw a baseball you don't toss it in the air and slap it with your hand. When you throw the ball, the hand pressure aginst the ball stays until the ball leaves the hand and baseball pitchers try to keep the pressure there even after the ball is gone.

I would (respectfully) suggest that both notions are recipes for casting and flipping respectively. Throwing anything effectively involves straightening of the bent (right, usually) wrist that holds, and propels, the projectile.

Driving the club head down, out and through the ball whilst it lags behind the hands, stressing the club shaft in the process, should be our only objective.
