Hi all, I'm new here and saw the title of this forum and thought this is where I should post my request for help. I have had 3 back surgeries, prior to my third surgery I was a 16-18 HC. I have only played 6 times since 2006 - once in 2006, then 3rd surgery, 1 time in 2010, 4 times this year, my HC is currently a 21.
I am an OTT swinger(hitter?), cannot rotate well or use hips efficiently, even though I was taught several years ago to use a slide or bump of the left hip to start DS and cure over OTT, now nothing works, pulls, pull hooks, slices, never know where the ball is going.
I just found out about Mr. Blake 3 days ago and have been captivated by his knowledge of the game and swing and his genuine desire to see all who play this great game improve.
Can Mr. Blake help me build a more repeatable, reliable swing?
If this is not the right area to post this I apologize. Please direct me to the correct forum as I am desperate to improve a rapidly deteriorating golf swing....
Thanks for the reply airair - Can he help me; Even with the bad back, being 49 and all the swing faults that an OTT swinger (Hitter(?)) can throw at him? Years of not so great instruction, years of ingrained bad habits, years of thinking I understood a golf swing but really had no clue?
After reading this thread and seeing the wonderful work Mr. Blake has done with ICT, and I'm sure hundreds if not tens of thousands of others, I know he can.
Question - Should I get Alignment Golf DVD, learn from that and then go see Mr. Blake?
I don't have much money, want to play as much as possible yet still improve. Can only afford two hours at most with Mr. Blake, yet if I spend that money I want to make sure I am prepared and I don't waste Mr. Blake's time and that also I maximize my learning experience....
What do you think would be the best course for a young at heart man with a very bad back? Oh yeah, Doc says I can golf to my hearts content, should not be a problem as long as I stretch and build up lower back strength and flexibility, just started new regiment two weeks ago.....

I have been there with a 21 hcp, 62 years old. A lot more than 2 hours though, but I guess you will benefit a lot from only 2 hours as well. What he can do with your back problems, I'm not sure. It's best he gives you his own answer. You can send him an e-mail or privat message. Good luck.
The alignment DVD will give you a flying start, so you can recognize what it's all about. And don't forget all the free videos here.
Thanks Air - I'm sure I will need more then 2 hours. I just want to get the basics down, Maybe a half day?
I'm not looking for miracles. Just money is tight and I want the biggest bang for my buck. And again I don't want to wast Mr. Blake's time.
At one time I had dreams, would quit work, play the Champions Tour and live the life of a Pro Golfer. Well now, I just want to shoot in the 80's regularly, maybe break 80. Will that take time? Oh yeah! LOL! Especially for me. . Do I have the time, yes. The money?????
Mr. Blake seems to me to be an exceptional teacher.... I hope I can get a chance to work with him...
So - Should I get Alignment Golf DVD, study that and then go see Mr. Blake, or go see Mr. Blake then get the DVD? Or, LOL, See Mr. Blake and put off the DVD?
Thanks again for your help. I do sincerely appreciate it! Y'all seem to be some real nice folks on this site and I see from reading so many posts how you guys encourage others to seek, find and improve, and that I can't help but improve no matter which direction I go, as long as I pick one philosophy and stick with it.

As for me, I know, Mr Blake is the way to go.
Get the DVD, book your lessons, watch the DVD before and after. Even get the book (allthough I haven't made a correct use of it). Watch all the free videos. Ask questions and you will probably get some informative answers... and you are on your way.
Thanks again... Just what I'll do... I could do the 4 hours, but buying video and practicing will give me the time to save up for a full day, or dare I admit it, possibly two full days.... Got my fingers crossed.
Watching Videos now, Wow! More info then I have been taught or read in 13 years.... So much to take in.....
Just to iterate... I would not stop at two, four or 16 hours of instruction. I just have to budget wisely and move forward at a tortoise pace. Thats all!
Yoda turned me on to the Flail many, many moons ago. I think it can help anyone that uses it. Make yourself a Golfer's Flail as pictured in 2-K#4 and #5 on page 34 (6th edition). The 7th edition make an error leaving out the hinge pin . The Golfer's Flail is a Mr. Kelley concepts as opposed to the Standard Flail that is for beating wheat.
My Flail, however, ends where the swivel (as pictured) begins, at the left elbow. I also put a large screw in it that does not let the secondary lever move past the level (4-B-1) position, allowing for the feel of the Rhythm #3 Accumulator. It really helps. I incorportate it into almost all of my lessons. After all the number one alignment is the flat left wrist (Law of the Flail 2-K).
Practice with it and you will be amazed. I often hear from my students, "My Hands really need to do this." "Yes indeed they do," I reply. You are now on your way to Educated Hands.
