Round Putter Grip
Anyone have experience with using a round putter grip? If so, how did it work? I understand that Homer Kelly used a round grip on his putter. Is this true?

I am thinking about installing a round grip on my putter (i.e., the same standard type grip used for irons/woods), instead of the paddle grip with the flat front commonly used for putters.

I've done several searches on various forums (including this one) and could not find much information on the subject. The only arguments for the traditional paddle putter grips are that they (i) help you to have both thumbs going straight down the front of the grip (not sure why this matters from a TGM perspective, or otherwise); and (ii) make it easier to place the grip in the palm of the left hand where it's supposed to be when putting (to zero out PA #3). While both of these things may be true, I do not see how these two things could not be accomplished effectively with a round grip.

In any event, if anyone has any insights (from a TGM perspective) regarding the merits of using either a round putter grip or the traditional paddle putter grip, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

Richard
