A New Year's Message
In this next holiday week and throughout the coming New Year . . .

If you drink, don't drive. If you drive, don't drink.

First, mind your own behavior. Plan ahead, if you know you're going to have more 'fun' than the law allows, and make sure you have a designated driver. Finally -- and this is a 'toughie' for most of us -- be there when you see the rules being irresponsibly broken. The drunk will say he is okay, but you know better. Stop him. Or her.

You have a number of alternatives:

Find a sober driver in the drunk's group.

Sit with the drunk another hour. Or two. Food and water will help.

Tell the drunk -- probably a friend, but tonight a friend so obviously drunk that you are concerned -- that you will take him home. Be strong, and insist on it. If that's not possible . . .

Call a cab.

Take the keys.

Do whatever it takes.

For their own sake.

And, for the sake of innocent others.

Those adverts reach the majority of the Aussie population. Shame a minority cause such grief. I spent a week missing the JWalker Classic in a jury putting one of the minority behind bars for killing his passengers and another driver last year. To actually witness the grief of so many made me realise why when you do jury duty that the courts hand you a 'counselling' phone number.

Thanks for putting up those You Tubes Yoda. I wish everyone in the world go to think about their meaning at least once each silly season.

2011 here we come.

Thanks for this, Paul.

I've once again been summoned for jury duty in Cobb County, Georgia, USA. Third time in ten years.

I'll go -- January 31st -- and, no doubt, be selected. I always am!

And, I'll serve.

The first time 'round was a domestic dispute.

The second, a criminal offense.

Thus far, I've not had to deal with a drunk who killed or hurt somebody.

Hope that's not the case this time.

For both our sakes.

Thanks for the reminder Lynn. Too many forget how much damage even one drink can do. Like you I have been called up for jury service as well in Jan (4th time in 10 years) So far they have been petty things and have been pretty quick trials.

Make them "Tired"
As a last resort, let the air out of their tires.

Happy New Year
Happy New Year to everyone at LBG

I played my first game today and had 3 birdies in 9 holes en route to a one under par 34.

Light and inclement weather put a halt to our day at the turn so we adjourned to the club house for a pint of the black stuff and to watch the football (or soccer as you guys call it)

I hope everyone makes their golfing goals in 2011 especially me!

You could get hurt trying to get that close to someone's car in Philly or Chicago.

Lynn's AAA suggestion, is cool, though. AAA is saving me 10% at Cuscowilla!
