Wet n Windy at Birkdale
Some of you state siders will only be getting up to see terrible weather at Birkdale.

At 11.25 GMT there is only one player under par, little known Shintaro Kai from Japan and he has only played a handful of holes!

Harrington is +2 through 12.

If the afternoon brightens up it could be a morning to forget for the early starters.

After quite a few years of hot dry windless conditions it's good to see one of these old courses biting back.

Yeah, it's easy to see why Royal Birkdale is held in such high regard by so many in the golf world.
