what he said^^ forget about the lagging takeaway up and in immediately and also back but that will take care of itself with extensor, plus 1 to mizunojoe swing starts with the right forearm but pivot should move with it in whatever combination shoulders first or hips first whichever u choose but the main point is that the RIGHT FOREARM is precisely guiding the motion the body simply accomodating it's motion, clearing out of the way and preparing for its fully loaded position for the downswing
put simply the right forearm moves the club but the body has to turn its not an arms only swing otherwise the pivot would be zeroed out
funny that with TGMers the right forearm is obviously the starter of the motion for everyone else who doesnt know tgm it could be anything lol, aren't you glad you have this book!
THE START OF THE SWING IS THE RIGHT FOREARM TAKEAWAY THE RIGHT FOREARM MOVES IN A MANNER THAT LIFTS AND FANS THE CLUBHEAND AND CLUBSHAFT UP IN AND BACK ON THE PLANE SIMULTANEOUSLY. TAKE YOUR RIGHT FOREARM AND MAKE A PUNCHING MOTION, STRAIGHT FORWARD AND BACK WITHOUT A CLUB....NEXT TAKE YOUR RIGHT FOREARM AND FAN IT TO THE RIGHT ROTATING, NEXT TAKE YOUR RIGHT FOREARM AND SIMPLY MOVE IT TO THE RIGHT NOW MIX THESE MOTIONS TOGETHER SIMULTANEOUSLY THIS WILL GIVE U A GENERAL IDEA OF HOW THE RIGHT FOREARM OPERATES TO MOVE THE CLUB WHEN ATTACHED WITH THE LEFT ARM. THE RIGHT FOREARM IS THE CLUBSHAFTS GUIDE IT MOVES THE CLUB PRECISELY UP ON THE PLANE IMMEDIATELY NOTHING ELSE MOVES IT. THE BODY SHOULD ACCOMODATE THIS MOTION LEARNING HOW TO START THE SWING WITH THE RIGHT FOREARM TAKEAWAY IS AN ESSENTIAL SKILL TO BE LEARNED LEARN IT NOW!! OR FOReVER SUCK AT GOLF LOL
REMEMBER THE RIGHT FOREARM SHOULD BE BENT AT ADDRESS WHILE THE LEFT ARM IS STRAIGHT, IN THE BACKSWING THE RIGHT ARM IS ALWAYS BENT THE LEFT ARM IS ALWAYS STRAIGHT, AS THE LEFT ARM IS MOVED ACROSS THE CHEST BY THE RIGHT ARM THE RIGHT ARM INCREASES ITS BEND AS IT MOVES AWAY IN THE DOWNSWING AND FOLLOW THROUGH THE RIGHT ARM IS STRAIGHTENING BUT STILL BENT UNTIL WELL AFTER THE BALL IS GONE SO REMEMBER THE RIGHT ELBOW AND RIGHT FOREARM ARE EXTREMELY IMPORTANT LEARN TO COORDINATE THEM MANUALLY FOR THE BACKSWING AND PASSIVELY FOR THE DOWNSWING AS A SWINGER
sorry for the all caps but i realized this is an extremely important question you asked
I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH THE IMPORTANCE OF STARTING THE GOLF SWING WITH THE RIGHT FOREARM, WITH ALL THE OPTIONS IN TGM I MUST SAY THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL THE RIGHT FOREARM MUST PRECISELY MOVE THE CLUB TO START THE SWING, THE RIGHT HIP AND SHOULDER MOTION CLEAR OUT OF THE WAY TO ACCOMODATE THIS PRECISE MOTION OTHERWISE THE HIP MIGHT COLLIDE WITH THE RIGHT ELBOW.
