If you look at the clubshaft of the club...

and hold the handle in the palm of your right hand, and stretch your right arm straight out in front of you, you are looking at the plane of the golf club. Now, bend at the hips until the club rests on the ground. That is the position with the most promise for the back swing and downswing of any club in your hand! All of golf is based on the most effective and consistent ways to stay on plane for power and precision.

Hammer the ground right here and let the ball get in the way.

That's right at the end of the day . . . you are hittin' a nail or chopping wood . . . ON AN INCLINED PLANE . . . that's what makes it counter intuitive. So I'd say it would be best to introduce this via motions people "get" outside of golf.
Process . . . .
1. Hammer the ground left hand only in a vertical plane . . . isolate the motion of #2 (wrist cock/uncock) . . . left arm flying wedge . . . rhythm . . . ON A VERTICAL PLANE that makes more sense with regards to their "instincts".
2. Hammer an imaginary nail "chest high opposite their left shoulder" right hand only . . . hammering on a HORIZONTAL PLANE . . . baseball/tennis . . . . right forearm flying wedge
3. Two handed Horizontal Plane hammering . . . how wedges work together to move the "hammer" on plane maintaining alignments . . . also showing that "you'd never raise your arms way up here if you were gonna hammer on this horizontal plane right?" . . . wedges and Primary and Secondary Lever Assemblies linked to body/Pivot . . . efficient motion . . .
4. Two handed hammering on a vertical plane . . . Right Forearm take away on vertical planes cocks and uncocks wrist . . . hammer the ground HARD . . . full lever extension and rhythm would NEVER be disrupted on the vertical plane . . . "why would do that on a plane that is more like a roof???"
5. Inclined plane Left hand only hammering with line in bunker/ground to establish throwing the club out to the proper low point IN FRONT OF THIS HERE LINE
6. Inclined plane hammering right hand only with line and no ball
7. Two handed inclined plane hammering no ball with line
8. Introduce ball . . . "dude . . .forget about the ball . . . just pretend its the line."

It's not easy to put this in plain language - maybe impossible?

My own try.
With most of the weight on your left foot and with your ok grip, make a half swing with the club back and then down to the ball and thru, keeping your left wrist flat and your right wrist bent.
It's not easy - I didn't find place for the inclined plane.
or
type of hinging
drive/drag loading
lag
flying wedges
pressure points
power packages, primary lever assembly and other stuff I really don't know what is ..

Thanks, Bucket! I love that video about hammering. Came in 2nd place in a small tournament with it (20 people)! Love it!

Will you please, please look at every FREE video here and on You Tube? Then you can ask hundreds more questions which OB, Daryl, Yoda's Luke, KevCarter, JerryG, me and hundreds more golfers will answer so we can insult each other and annoy Daryl and Bucket. (I have never known OB, Yoda, or Yoda's Luke to get cross.) (Bucket, either, though Mike O really beats the crap out of him.) It'll be snowing next week in the MidWest and those boys get cranky when they can't go to the indoor range for hours!
We all need the distraction of your questions! You have actually allowed me to rest a bit from my lighthearted banter.
I have a warning though. Don't ever accuse Daryl of making a vapid post.
A) He's bright.
B) He's really good with cool graphics and he will insult you in different colors.
C) Sometimes, he's funny.
D) He knows lots of TGM stuff like OB, Yoda's Luke ,Bernt R, Bam-Bam.....
E) And he can really be a grouchy guy, sometimes. He'll carry a grudge for like uhmm, 36 hours!
Other than that, watch the free vids, buddy! You rock!
