I want to avoid gettting paralysis by analysis but I am sure there are some key things to look at that would help one get better faster. Even a bullet point list wld help to begin with.
Not trying to take buisness away from a pro or anything, rather looking for things to monitor as it seems to be very easy to fall back to old ways.
Also seeking to empower myself. My GSED friend told me I know more than 90% of pros but he also said then you need decide what to do with the information.
So I realised I actually dont know what I am actually doing most of the time despite being able to hit great shots a lot of the time
Whats more - I also realised I have no idea what others are doing a lot of the time.
This is not my profession ( I work in IT) but it is my passion so I like to know what is the "truth" ie. what do top performers do versus lesser performers.
Oops - this is turning into a ramble....
I have been downloading and playing pro swings over and over and I figure why not learn what to look for.
I know camera angles make a big difference but i am sure there are lots of other things to look at regardless of camera angle.
Lets say we have a video of our swing copied to computer - down the line and face on and we can draw lines etc.
Anybody know of any links for such articles online ?
Where to draw lines etc, monitor excessive sway .....
Here is a bit of a list I have started but I guess I am maybe reinventing the wheel or doubling up on some items.
Fundamentals
Alignments
Ball position
Posture
Once swing is in motion
Swaying
Bobbing
Lurching
Head movement
Swing plane
Impact position – alignments
What do those of you who have done lots of this look at - i am sure you maybe focus on certain things as a general rule so as to avoid confusing the student etc.
Any thought from any of u who are experienced in such matters would be much appreciated.
