The longest player I ever knew was a Hitter. He could fly the ball about 330 with a wood/wood. He used a Byron Nelson model with a green Gamafire insert, standard length. It looked odd to be standing on the tee of a 330 yard par 4, and next see the ball fly on the green and back up.
He, at least, thought he was a Hitter.
