Update... Musings... and photos of Ted's swing

I'm a few weeks out of Marietta. There are wobbles galore remaining, but I'm methodically cleaning house. This week it was terminating The Dancing Left Foot (aka Useless Pivot). True to LBG/TGM form, adding was subtracting. I promoted the backstroke Pivot with a very slight pre-set. Adding a decent Pivot dismissed the Disco Left Foot. I'll miss it, we spent a lot of years together.

Payoff for the week was two vid frames shot of me by the wife. It isn't all grace and beauty, but the 4i is bending into Impact with Wedges intact. And the left wrist/arm and shaft are pole straight at lowpoint with that pesky bent right hand still pushing. I only had to go see Yoda in Marietta. I would have gone to Mars, just for those two frames.

LBG/TGM golf has been great closure to searching for the swing school of thought. Bob Rotella says you need closure on that, so it must be a good thing. Speaking of closure, I finally read Jim Hardy's article in GD and feel fairly sure that the concept of "Plane" has met closure as incomprehensible in perpetuity to GD readers. And all swings are to be executed with a Dual Horizontal Hinge while you're at it.

Anyway...... I put up some impromptu photos in a gallery for some people at GEA and friends. I since bent it a bit for LBGers. It's just shots of the facility, an introduction to one of Ted's students, and bronze medal shots of Ted's gold medal swing. I see that a gaggle of you traced the gallery by the photo I linked last night. So for your viewing pleasure http://www.cwm.smugmug.com . Don't suffer the sappy bio or family stuff. Great stuff Charlie! Thanks for sharing the photos. I was looking for 1 of Ted DTL showing his allignments and that did the trick. Looks like they did a great job on that putting green by the pro shop (when I was there in late February it was under construction with just some dirt piles there).

You going to the McDonalds Open at Bulle Rock this year?

Thanks for sharing all of this Charlie. I will confess---I hit the Natalie Gulbis photos first. I think I need a pony tail-looks pretty cool when she swings. Oh, Ted's swing was nice,too!! HA!

Ditto on the putting green--looks great. They had just packed down all the dirt and were getting ready to install the thing last month at my visit. Overall it's a very nice facility.

Liked your comments about Ted's clubfitting---I had someone fit me in very upright clubs a few years ago, which worked for my OTT move at the time. After proper instruction they were useless. Ted does it right,as you would expect ! Have fun folks. Dr Dave

Ya that happened to me too...4 degrees upright.

Absolutely useless if you ask me. Waste of money. I agree that one should get their swing sorted out first.

Keith..... I sorted out the the photos that were reasonable quality and good positions etc. Ted just gets the vectors perfectly in line.

The green is done. But I'm sending a bulldozer over to level those nasty bunkers. I felt totally stupid trying to get out of that pro quality sand. We'll leave your plaque up though.

Yep, volunteer for 15 years. Now I just do the photo work. I hit the practice rounds, and the Pro-Am day too, last year. My wife and I hit a round over the weekend. she's a huge Annika fan. I will be doing some work for one of the organizations associated with the event, and usually barter for free tickets. I'll pass some on if you are interested. You can usually get in for free up until Saturday. The management of the tourney has changed, so who knows this season.

Dr Dave...... The flying ponytail IS cool. Heaven only knows how she is going to faire with all of that nonsense in her swing. Her short game is just going nowhere, but she is getting alot of "exposure" in more more ways than one.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled. painter and I are trying to get a round together and we're trying to locate it mid PA, so that you can join in. Also want to see if we can flush out any other Mid-Atlantic LBGers who want to join in.

My video camera is Hi8 analog tape. I already sent The Marietta Tapes to a studio to have them converted to digital. I'll drop off the range tape, too. In the meantime, some shots after a week working up here. I took them off of a tape played on a monitor with a still camera. There are alot of technical reasons that this approach is moronic. But heck, we can do an "After" and then a "Later After" when I get the digis.

This is what happens when you "pause" a tape. You get 2 frames overlaid. Essentially impact, and a ghost of lowpoint.


Arms through, it's becoming more often a swivel finish, than a chicken wing.
