Thanks - actually I did read that thread, and it makes sense that bobbing could be a major cause of hitting it fat. I don't think I bob too much - and I don't hit it fat all the time. It really becomes a problem when I try to drive the ball into the ground like Yoda has said to do. I have no doubt that his advice is correct, but something about it gets my brain to tell my body to do something that it shouldn't be doing. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Amazing how easy it looks when he does it. Back to the range tomorrow.

Sandeep,
Your 'fat' strikes occur because, in the face of the strong downward Thrust, your Left Wrist -- the Master Wrist -- is AWOL (a military term: Absent Without Leave). It has abdicated its responsibilities and is no longer maintaining Clubhead Control (On Plane per 7-18 and 10-18 ). As s result, the Flail (2-K) ceases to function, and the club simply buries in the ground.
It's a two-handed game.

Thanks so much Yoda. I know you are correct - I'll be studying your references tonight. Will try to have this part of my swing fixed before I see you in a few weeks.

I have a dysfunctional flail. Found this video on YouTube demonstrating a proper flail.

A revelation of sorts
My Computer has been working furiously to figure out the reason trying to "drive the ball into the ground" causes me to hit it fat. As I mentioned, I don't hit fat all the time in my usual swing, but I do virtually every time if I try to "drive the ball into the ground". Studying Yoda's comments, analyzing the references in the Book, and the Incubator has been working overtime also. Just came back from my course, and I think I have figured something out, so I will share in case it helps anyone else.
Yoda's last words in his reply to me was
"It's a two-handed game".
So after making sure that my flying wedges were good, grip solid, Flail working properly, and Left Wrist at least somewhat correct, I turned my attention to the Right side. I tried making right arm only swings, with my left hand in my pocket, and discovered that I still hit it fat almost every time - often caused by losing the Bent Right Wrist or keeping the weight back on the Right side.
So obviously a lot of problems, but the really interesting thing was that I found that even if I kept the Right Wrist Bent, and kept my weight forward, I could still hit it fat - by straightening my right elbow way too early in the Downswing. That is when the light bulb lit up, because all of a sudden I realized that this is what my Computer gets me to do when told to "drive the ball into the ground". From the Top, I am just focused on the ball, and going DOWN, and I am pretty sure that my move is just to end up in a position where both my arms are completely straight at Impact, probably without even transferring my weight to the front in time because I am so preoccupied with Down instead of Forward to the Target. If you try this with a club in your hand you find that the head buries in the ground way behind the ball every time.
So with this as a hypothesis, (and after making sure that I still had a proper Left Wrist and Flail), I started making swings with the only thought from the Top to be to monitor my Right Elbow, and make sure that it straightened gradually and only became straight at Follow Through (helped that I had watched the Holies and Polies video a few times last night and today at work). What a difference, all of a sudden started hitting beautiful straight shots with a 3-Dimensional Impact sound.
So a long winded post but I think an important discovery for me, and it must be a pretty common genetic defect that I and other Golfers suffer from that results in our Computer putting out some faulty programs.
